Mount Nittany Health is seeking a BC/BE, Anesthesiology Trained, Medical Director of Surgical Services and Chief of Anesthesia! In association with the Chief Medical (CMO) & Chief Nursing Officers (CNO), the Medical Director of Surgical Services and Chief of Anesthesia is clinical dyadic leadership partner with the Director Surgical Services for the management and oversight of surgical services operations.  In the dyadic relationship the medical director will 1) collaborate with surgical services leadership to coordinate anesthesia staff to improve efficiency, 2) address patient & staff concerns/questions 3) work with surgical services leadership on policies and the education of policies/policy updates, 4) collaborate with physicians/surgeons 5) assist with quality improvement initiatives.  The Medical director will work with hospital leadership to set goals for the anesthesia department, focusing on growth, innovation, and improvement. Mount Nittany Medical Center, a 260-bed acute care facility in State College, PA.  State College offers all of the luxuries of a college town—including short commutes, NCAA Sports, Arts, high quality schools and outdoor recreation abounds with beautiful hiking and biking trails. Community based medicine is a plus! The physician will be provided a robust recruitment package.

 

The Position:

  • .6 Clinical and .4 Medical Directorship
  • Reports to CMO and CNO

 

Education:

  • MD/DO Degree
  • BC/BE through The American Board of Anesthesiology
  • Completed Anesthesiology Residency through an ACGME program

 

Experience:

  • Five years of practice experience
  • Prior experience as a medical director preferred with experience successfully initiating change management and care/quality improvement processes.
  • Extensive experience in hospital operations, quality improvement, and patient safety.

 

Compensation Package:

  • Salary: .4 medical director and .6 Anesthesiologist = $580,000
  • Incentive Bonus: $30,000
  • PTO: 400 hours annually plus 8 holidays
  • CME: $3, 500
  • Sign on: $50,000
  • Relocation: $10,000
