Exciting Locum Physician Opportunity in Pediatric Anesthesiology – Dayton, OH
Are you an experienced anesthesiologist seeking a dynamic locum position in a leading pediatric hospital? Join Dayton Children's as a Locum - Physician - Anesthesiology to provide exceptional care to a diverse patient population while enjoying a supportive environment and competitive compensation. This vital role offers the chance to contribute to a top-tier Level 1 Trauma Center, ensuring comprehensive pediatric anesthesiology coverage during a key Maternity Leave.
In this role, you will cover hospital-based operating rooms, managing an average of 50-60 surgical cases daily across neonatal to adult patients. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with no call responsibilities. You will supervise CRNAs in a collaborative care team model, ensuring high standards of anesthesia care, while not responsible for preparing anesthesia carts. The position provides an excellent opportunity to showcase your expertise in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Required Skills
- Valid medical license in Ohio and DEA certification
- Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology
- Proven experience in pediatric anesthesiology within a hospital setting
- Ability to supervise CRNAs in a team-based care model
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in high-volume surgical environments
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience in trauma or Level 1 trauma centers
- Familiarity with pediatric pain management protocols
- Prior supervision of anesthesia staff or CRNAs
- Proficiency in managing neonatal to adult patient populations
Preferred Education and Experience
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an anesthesiology residency program
- At least 2 years of pediatric anesthesia experience in hospital settings
Other Requirements
- Ability to obtain necessary hospital credentials, including fingerprinting and certifications
- Willingness to travel and stay on-site for the duration of the assignment
- Reimbursement for travel expenses, including mileage, rental car, hotel, and flights, as per facility policy
